INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES

The Gemar S.r.l. website uses cookies and similar technologies to guarantee correct functioning of the procedures and to improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, on how they are used by Gemar and on how they are managed.
Pursuant to the measure of the Regulator dated 8 May 2014, on “Identification of simplified methods for providing information and acquiring consent to use of cookies”, cookies are small text strings which the websites visited by users send to the users’ terminals (usually via the browser), where they are stored in order to be retransmitted to those websites the next time they are visited by the same user. The so-called “third party” cookies are set by a different website to the one the user is visiting, since elements may be present on each website (images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains, etc.) which reside on different servers to the server of the visited website.

Definitions

Cookies are categorised according to their characteristics and use, i.e.:

  • Technical cookies: these are cookies required for browsing or to supply a service requested by the user. They are not used for any other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner of the website. Without these cookies, certain operations cannot be carried out or would be more complex and/or less secure, so these cookies are strictly necessary. They may be divided into browsing cookies or session cookies, which guarantee normal browsing and use of the website.
  • Analytics cookies: these are similar to technical cookies where used directly by the website owner to collect information, in aggregate form and therefore anonymous, on the number of users and on how they visit the website.
  • Profiling cookies: these cookies are used to track the user’s Internet browsing and to create profiles on their tastes, habits and choices. These cookies serve to send advertising messages to the user’s terminal which correspond with preferences already shown by that user when browsing on line. This website does not use profiling cookies.
  • Third party cookies: these are cookies which are not received from the website visited, and therefore not from the website owner, but from websites managed by other organisations, the so-called third parties. An example of this type of cookies are the _social plugin_s used for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. They are parts of the website visited, generated directly by said websites and integrated into the page of the host website.

Third party cookies
So-called third party cookies are present on this website due to the presence of social plugins, serving to share the contents on social networks. The presence of these plugins means that cookies are transmitted to and from all the websites managed by third parties. Management of information collected by third parties is governed by the relative information, to which reference should be made. For greater transparency and simplicity, the web addresses where said information and details on the methods of managing cookies may be obtained are provided below:

Google Analytics
This is a free web analysis tool provided by Google, which sends cookies to your device. The information produced by your use of the website, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google and kept on its servers. Google uses this information to assess your use of the website, prepare reports on website activity for web operators and to supply other services relating to website activity and use of the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or in the case of third parties who process this information on behalf of Google. Google does not associate your IP address with any other data which Google possesses under any circumstances.
For further information on Google Analytics, consult: http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html

Duration of cookies
There are two types of cookies, classified according to their duration: (i) the former only remain active while the user is browsing, i.e. until the browser is closed; (ii) the latter, the so-called persistent cookies, continue to remain active for subsequent visits to the website by the same user.
Gemar does not use persistent cookies.
